Seperti macam tajuk di atas, this entry is about a concert that I went that was held in last month. Spesifically, 12th of May 2018 (Saturday). The concert was held in Wisma MCA, located in Kuala Lumpur. Well, the venue was not that strange to me, since Sahajidah Hai-O Marketing (SHOM) used to held lots of events at this venue before.
Anyway, who is Hyde exactly?
Hideto Takarai (born January 29, 1969 in Wakayama, Japan – yes, I know, he’s old already…T___T), known exclusively by his stage name Hyde, is a Japanese musician, singer, songwriter, producer, and actor. He is best known as the lead vocalist for the rock band L’Arc-en-Ciel, as well as for Vamps. As a member of L’Arc~en~Ciel, his stage name is stylized as hyde, while as a solo artist and a member of Vamps it is stylized as HYDE.

If you are familiar with the Japanese rock band called L’Arc~en~Ciel, then you’ve probably heard about Hyde. Because Hyde is the main vocalist of this (awesome) rock band. And in case if you didn’t know, L’Arc~en~Ciel is one of the richest Japanese rock band, probably one of the richest rock band in the world. Every tickets of their concerts are always sold out.
I’ve been a fan of this band since I was 15 years-old. I am now 35 years-old, so you can imagine how hyped I was when I’ve found out that Hyde was coming to Malaysia to hold a small concert here. HERE. IN MALAYSIA.
I’ve remembered what I’ve said to my sister when I’ve found out about this. “We have been waiting for 20 years for him (or his band) to come to Malaysia.” Both my sister and I are huge fans of L’Arc~en~Ciel.
I did went to one of their concerts before. The concert was held in Hong Kong in 2008, I think. As far as I can remember. But, I did remember that I cried at the end of the concert. Since at that time, I was going to get married, so the concert was the last thing that I did for myself as a single woman. Hahah!!
So, back to this concert. My sister helped us by purchasing the tickets. And while waiting for the day to come, I didn’t know how many times I went into ‘hyper-mode’. Considering I have been a fan of him / the band for so long, and finally, I can meet him in person. Not exactly in person, but, you know what I mean…:)
There were so many people. I believe, beside Malaysian fans, lots of his fans that are from Singapore and Indonesia, flew to Malaysia for this concert. And I thought I was the only one that wore jubah on that day. There were so many Muslim women that wore jubah / long dress on that day. Don’t worry, I was really behaved on that day.
Some of my sister’s friends also went together with us. These people have been a long-time die-hard fans of L’Arc~en~Ciel. To see them again in this concert was a happy moment for me. Don’t worry guys, we were behaving really good on that night…>_<
Yupz, I was screaming when he came out. When Hyde appeared on the stage. I couldn’t help myself. Because Hyde still looks the same after all of these years. He still looks so handsome from the moment I’ve discovered him 20 years ago.
His performance was beautiful. Superb. Amazing voice from the start until the end. I’ve lost counted how many times I was really awed by his performance. He performed some of old favourites and new songs as well. ‘Angel’s Tale’, ‘The Cape Of Storms’, ‘Evergreen’, ‘Winter Fall’, ‘Honey’, ‘My Heart Draws A Dream’, ‘Jojoushi’ are some of the tracks that I could remember. My favourite song on that night was ‘XXX’. Hearing him, watching him performed an acoustic version of this song is such a bliss…:)
Everything about this concert is so beautiful. I was truly happy, that I could see him performed live again. And guess what? Hyde sis try to speak in Bahasa Melayu with us. Some of his words are, ‘Terima Kasih’, ‘Kamu sangat cantik’, ‘Kita berkawan’ that I could remember. The rest, I screamed like a crazy person everytime he uttered a few sentences in Bahasa Melayu. And his pronunciation was very good. Well, ‘Terima Kasih’ has never sounded so good…:)
I was really satisfied with this concert. It’s like a private show to all of us. Not too big, and not too small either. It was such a nice feeling. And you can see me grinning from ear to ear in above picture…:)
Thank you, Hyde for this small concert in Malaysia. I am always loving you from far away. And I will always love you until the end. Thank you for the beautiful memories. Thank you for the amazing performance. Thank you, for coming to Malaysia. Thank you, and thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I am not too sure whether I will have the chance to see you perform live again. But, I will always be your huge fan from Malaysia. Love you, Hyde-san.
